Hatch was originally founded on 30 May 2023 to deliver the Innovation Centre capability for Singapore’s HTX, or the Home Team Science & Technology Agency. Since then, Hatch has created and delivers innovation programmes, global partnerships, tech scouting, and stakeholder and ecosystem engagements to force-multiply Singapore’s Home Team by providing an accelerated pipeline of validated deep-tech solutions from start-ups globally.
The Korean Institute of Police Technology (KIPoT) engaged Hatch for support to surface high potential Physical AI start-ups for its use cases. Leveraging its deep networks in South Korea – one of its global hubs – Hatch scouted and brought together a collective of Korean and Singaporean deep-tech start-ups for a townhall with senior Korean police leaders and decision-makers. A next-phase bespoke innovation programme pipeline is currently in discussion.
As part of ongoing efforts to cultivate Singapore’s public safety public sector community, Hatch hosts regular Spotlight Events focused on emerging tech domains. The domains covered range from bio-inspired technologies to eVTOLs, and offer public safety decision-makers, project managers, and operational stakeholders a primer on these technologies in the context of Singapore’s public safety, and opportunities to meet start-ups developing said technologies.
Our innovation approach is intentionally mission-driven: This enables us to focus our efforts on ideas and solutions that generate outcomes of greatest impact, and orients resources towards opportunities and collaborations in alignment to the North Star.
To create a seamless innovation pipeline from challenge to deployment, we align the needs of stakeholders on both fronts – challenge owners to define the boundaries within which the innovation initiatives take shape, and the necessary integration mechanisms to secure the longevity of successfully validated deep-tech start-up solutions.
Hatch delivers the innovation centre capability for HTX, acting as an essential bridge between Singapore’s public safety Home Team community and the global start-up innovation ecosystem. As part of this service, a suite of innovation programmes, tech scouting, insight reports, end-user engagements, and post-programme advisory were created to holistically cultivate HTX’s innovation capacity, and to see innovation streams to deployment.
